Our Concept
A Hidden Gem for Charcoal-Grilled Yakitori and Sake
Step through the door from lively Thonglor and the noise falls away. In the softly lit dining room, you hear the crackle of charcoal and sense the rhythm of the grill.
Sumibi Hirashima is a place built around a shared fire. Sit at the counter and watch the grill, or gather around the table in the privacy of a private room.
We serve charcoal-grilled yakitori at its best — fresh from the grill, one skewer at a time.
Signature Dish

Sumibi Hirashima Signature: Charcoal-Grilled Japanese Oyadori — Makkuroyaki
Japanese oyadori — mature chicken prized for its firm bite and deep flavour — is grilled boldly over charcoal until richly aromatic. A Sumibi Hirashima signature for those who enjoy the hearty texture of mature chicken and the fragrance of charcoal.
Japanese oyadori has a distinctly firm, springy texture. Recommended for guests who enjoy a chewier bite.

Charcoal Grilling
Why We Grill Over Charcoal
Charcoal is not just for show — it is our cooking method. Every part of our grilling is built around the fire.

Intense radiant heat
The surface sets in seconds while the juices stay inside. The aroma of binchotan is part of the seasoning itself, creating a finish that gas heat cannot reproduce.
Reading the fire
We adjust the charcoal arrangement and heat with care, grilling each part at its ideal temperature. By using both high and gentle heat, we draw out a fragrant exterior and juicy interior.
Fresh from the grill, one skewer at a time
We grill each order over charcoal and serve it at its best moment. Enjoy the aroma and texture that only freshly grilled yakitori can offer.
Sake & Shochu
Rare Sake and Shochu Chosen to Complement the Food
We select sake and shochu that pair well with yakitori, seasonal fish, vegetables delivered from Japan and à la carte dishes. Our list includes seasonal releases and rare labels that are not often found elsewhere.

- Junmai
- Ginjo & Daiginjo
- Rare & limited releases
Full rice flavour and satisfying depth. A natural match for yakitori, charcoal-grilled dishes and other dishes with fuller flavours.
Fragrant, clean and refined on the palate. Especially good with sashimi, seasonal Japanese vegetables and dishes that let the ingredients speak for themselves.
A special pour you may only encounter here. Limited-quantity and seasonal labels are also available.
Enjoy a special glass alongside the food — one you may only find here.

Guest Reviews
What Our Guests Say
★★★★★
The sake selection was excellent, and I enjoyed trying different bottles with the yakitori and other dishes. They even had labels I rarely see in Japan — an especially good place for sake lovers.

I used the restaurant for a business dinner with a client. The private room had a great atmosphere, and we were very happy with both the food and service. Our guests enjoyed it too, so I would use it again for the next dinner meeting.
